KINDLY SUPPLY FREE FERTILIZERS AND INCREASE COCOA PRICE - CHIEF FARMER CALLS

The Amansie West 2017/2018 best cocoa farmer and a Chief Farmer for the area, Mr. Ibrahim Kassim has called on the ruling government to be kind enough to sympathise the pride of farmers by freely giving them a fertilizer.

He said despite the government's effort to subsidise the price of fertilizers, most farmers struggle to buy them due to the lack of enough fund. He's therefore calling that farmers be given fertilizers for free without paying a kobo.

On a pricing system, Mr. Kassim pleaded that there should be an upsurge in the prices of cocoa as early as possible since cocoa farmers run at lost due to a high cost of production.

Despite the challenges in farming as indicated by him, the chief farmer hinted that farming is one of the profitable jobs which needs emergent youth participation and he's therefore calling on the youth involve themselves into farming instead of chasing a scarce coloured jobs after school.

To encourage youthful participation, Mr. Kassim still called on the government to put measures that could make farming very attractive.
