CWSA CEO lying to government to create jobs – Association

The leadership of Association of Small Towns’ Water Supply Systems – Ghana has accused the Chief Executive of Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Ing. Wolanyo Siabi of lying to the government to use an amount of GHS102m to create jobs.
According to statement signed by the Association’s secretary, Mr. Issah Ahmedn, “He [CEO] is lying to the government that he wants to create 460 jobs for government in the rural water setting, raise GHS102m for government by 2020 and push rural water systems under PURC regulations”, .
The Association also “has observed with a shock, how the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) is deliberately masterminding a serious national water crisis to create water security threat in Ghana so as to clandestinely win government support and action to reverse all gains made in rural water delivery”
“The Association is fully awake to these tricks to intentionally create an alarming description of community ineffectiveness in water production and distribution in the rural areas as a cover to appeal for some work for his

defunct CWSA staff”, Mr. Issah Ahmedn said

“If the CEO of CWSA is not aware, the Association wishes to inform him that the gloomy picture he is painting to government about rural water and the lack of qualified personnel to manage them will eat him up”
According to Mr. Issah Ahmedn, the CEO is creating more disaffection for government, its supporters and followers in these small towns across the country.
“CWSA is creating disaffection for government [therefore] …Government must beware of machinations before it is too late”, the Association has observed.
