JUST IN:Emmanuel Appiah elected 2018/19 UCC-DESAG President
Delegates of the 11th National Delegates Congress have elected Emmanuel Appiah Amoah to manage the affairs of the Association as its 20180/19 National President.
Emmanuel Appiah ,who contested the position alone due to other competitors being vetted out saw an overwhelming win with a YES or NO Voting Procedure being utilized.
Earlier,some delegates questioned the reason for only one candidate contesting the National Presidency,but the head of Academic Affairs t the College of Distance Education,Prof. Paul Dela Ahiatrogah explained that it must be a matter of choice if delegates believed in his candidature and capabilities since the other contestants were vetted out of the competition.
Emmanuel won the election with a 57.52% of the valid votes,comprising 237 YES against 174 NO,with 1 rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
He became President and was declared by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission.
The election also saw Greater Accra’s Iddrissu Kasim winning the Vice Presidential slot with 83.98% YES comprising 346 votes and a 15.77% NO ,comprising 15.77% NO ,comprising 65 Votes,with 1 rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
Abubakri Zakaria Iddrisu won the Sport Secretaryship with 187 v0tesnbehind fellow competitors,Apawu Misper aand Nennedy Nartey with 187 and 85 votes respectively.with 0 rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
Abdul Karim Mohhamed was elected Public Relations Officer with a total of 234 votes against his main opponent Faustina Obeng who obtained 176 votes with 1 rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
For the position of the welfare Officer,Braimah Kone won with 213 votes against his main rival Zanleriba Sunday who had 196 votes.with 03 rejected ballots of a total of 412 votes.
Adam Mohammed Hardi won the position of the Organizer with 356 YES votes and 55 NO votes.with Zero rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
For the position of Women Commissioner ,Dorcas Konagyewaa Agbetsiafa won the position with 280 YES and 183 NO Votes respectively with zero rejected ballot of a total of 412 votes.
Jude Noah Korley Darku won the position of the Financial Secretary with 357 YES against 52 NO Votes,with 03 rejected ballots of a total of 412 votes.
George Eduaquah Dunamis won the Secretaryship with 336 YES and 74 NO Votes,with 02 rejected ballots of a total of 412 votes.
