Akpaloo Bashes Mahama

Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has lambasted former president John Dramani Mahama for recently stating that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is unbeatable in unleashing violence.

According to him, Mr. Mahama should never have made such dangerous and unfortunate statement in public.

“He is a statesman and therefore I did not expect him to pass such dangerous comment in public,” Mr. Akpaloo, who is outspoken, said.
Mr. Akpaloo indicated that as former president, Mr. Mahama should always set the right example for others to follow.

“My brother, his statement that the NDC are champions in unleashing violence in this country is far below the belt so he should be condemned,” he added.

He said LPG has decided to join the other political parties to demonstrate in Accra to condemn Mr. Mahama’s remarks.

Some political parties demonstrated on Thursday morning in Accra to condemn the violence that characterized the recent by-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

“For us in the LPG, we see Mr. Mahama’s statement as a threat to the peace of this country and that is why we are joining the demonstrators to condemn him today.

“My party was involved in the Ayawaso polls and I can state that there were no acts of violence in the polling centers as some people fabricated in the media.

“Indeed, there was violence in the house of the NDC candidate but that had nothing to do with the elections or polling stations as some people lied. It was Sam George, who stormed the polling station and got the security personnel incensed with his insults which resulted in the attack on him,” he stated.
