Don’t Attend My Funeral If… – D.K. Poison Warns State Officials
Ghana’s first boxing World Champion David Kotei, also known as D.K. Poison, has warned state officials to stay away from his funeral, if he dies without receiving the money he lent to state for the importation of Mackerel into the country in 1976.According to D.K. Poison, he lent $45,000 to the state for the importation of mackerel in 1976, when he won the world title in Japan, but he has since not received the money. D.K Poison, who took advantage of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014, to present his petition, said, “if my money is not given to me and I die, woe unto any government official who will read nice tributes about me. “I will surely go with that person,” he warned.
According to D.K. Poison, he has made several appeals to previous governments to get a refund but none of them seem to have listened to his plea.
“I am not begging from the state. All am asking is what is due me nothing more, nothing less. I have made several appeals and petition but it seems, no one is ready to listen to me.
“Why should this happen to me at this my age. Where did I go wrong lifting the Flag of Ghana high, uniting the whole nation or borrowing the state money to import mackerel to the country.
“I believe God will one day hear my prayer and it will manifest through man, that is all I can say,” he added.
