MAHAMA SHOULD STOP USING HIS PHONE TO SAVE POWER
Former National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has challenged President Mahama to stop using his mobile phone to save power.
According to Anthony Karbo, since the president has traced the worsening power crisis to the increased use of mobile phones in the country, he should show leadership by example by “throwing away his mobile phone to save us power”.
In an apparent response to the worsening power crisis in the country, President Mahama blamed it on the increased use of electrical gadgets in the country.
He noted that the demand for power has increased due to the proliferation of mobile phones and electrical gadgets in the country
“Ghana’s population is 25 million, but statistics indicates that mobile phone lines in Ghana is over 27 million and these phones are charged every night, and this is one of the causes of the load shedding…” he stated.
But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday, Anthony Karbo said the Mahama-led administration is taking Ghanaians for fools.
He described as sickening the penchant of government appointees to insult the intelligence of Ghanaians.
The former NPP Youth leader wondered why government has not been able to solve the three-year long dumsor crisis and yet keeps lying to the citizenry.
“Does the president want Ghanaians to accept this explanation hook, line and sinker? They should stop insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians,” he stated.
Anthony Karbo said the comment by the president is an attestation that he has no clue to solving the dumsor crisis.
“When the president is helpless, when a government is visionless, directionless, you hear them throwing in this excuses to cover up their incompetence” he stressed.
